Outdoor Activity Worker – Saariselkä

We are hiring Outdoor Activity Workers for Lapland Safaris Saariselkä for Christmas season 2023!

A work day of an Outdoor Activity Worker consists of various tasks involving outdoor activities in the beautiful Lappish nature, including the preparation of the activities and different kind of maintenance work. As an Outdoor Activity Worker, you work with international tourist groups. Your main job is to be an activity leader for children and grown-ups in an activity area. You will be introducing different kind of winter activities such as ice-fishing, tobogganing, mini-skidoo, kick-sledding or tandem skiing to our customers. You can also be working at the reindeer info, pancake-hut or at the warmup cabin.

Other duties include, for example, that one day per week you help our clothing maintenance team to provide safari clothes for our customers. You also unpack the returned bags of clothes.  Occasionally you might also work as a Roadcrosser. As a Roadcrosser you make sure that customers are crossing road safely while they drive snowmobile for the very first time. Outdoor Activity Workers work during the busiest season – Christmas – which means the work days are hectic and sometimes days can be long. Language skills (Spanish/French) are considered an advantage. Previous experience as an activity worker or experience of customer service are advantageous.

Before the start of the actual work, Lapland Safaris organizes a training for the new staff. Knowledge, skills, first aid and security are the main principles of the training. In the training we go through the needed skills, get to know the activity areas and practice performing. The training language is English. Employees will also be briefed to each task in the beginning of the employment.

The employment relationship is fixed-term seasonal job. It starts 20th of November 2023 and lasts until 25th of December 2023. We will help to find accommodation in a shared apartment with affordable rent.
