Safari Guide – Hetta

We are recruiting Safari Guides for Lapland Safaris Hettafor winter season 2023-2024!

 

As a Safari Guide you will introduce Lappish nature to international guests and guide different activities. Among many things you can for example guide a snowshoe safari and admire the fell scenery, take customers to visit a reindeer farm or lead a snowmobile safari to a snowy forest to see Aurora Borealis. Your tools in different safaris can be snowmobiles, ice-fishing gear or snowshoes and of course your awesome personality! The working days consist of various tasks such as preparation and operating safaris as well as maintenance work.

As a Lapland Safaris Guide, we expect you to have a brisk attitude, the courage to work alone, good communication skills, first aid skills and a wilderness spirit. Flexibility, adaptability even to sudden changes (there may be several tasks during the working day) and the ability to withstand pressure are required qualities. You should also like to work outside, regardless of the weather, and you know how to adapt to the challenges brought by the weather 

We expect that you speak fluent English, knowledge of other languages is an advantage. You should have a driver’s license (BE card preferred).
Previous experience in similar tasks, regional knowledge, and experience driving a vehicle in snowy conditions are considered an advantage.

Before the start of the actual work, Lapland Safaris organizes an Arctic Hospitality Guide training for new guides. The training is part of the Arctic Hospitality Academy and is cooperated by Lapland Safaris, Lapland Hotels and local schools in tourism. Training includes learning the required guiding and communication skills as well as driving a snowmobile. Knowledge, skills and security are the main principles of the training. Employees will also be briefed to each task in the beginning of the employment.

The working relationship is fixed-term seasonal contract by the collective agreement of Adventure Services Sector. Work will start in November 2023 and will last approximately until March 2024. We help our staff to find accommodation in shared apartments, with a reasonable monthly rent. Please notice that Lapland Safaris is a non-smoking working place.
