What it's like?
Clothing team members are there to serve customers when it's time to hand out clothes. They estimate which overall size each customer needs, they give gloves, hats, scarves, balaclavas, helmets and the right shoe size. They tell to the customers what to wear and why. They need to have knowledge about the clothing and the materials and to be able to advise the customer on layered clothing and how to stay warm. They can also tell if the customer's own clothes are suitable for the arctic weather conditions. Clothing team also takes care of tidiness of the clothing venue.
What to expect?
A big amount of clothing are handed out and returned every day. During one day, there may be 2500 customers who need the whole set of clothing. Usually customers return the clothing on the same day when they get them. The work with such amounts of people and clothes can be hectic at times. The team members are required to work hard and efficiently for the common goal – a warm and happy customer.
If you love organizing, this is the place for you. A member of a clothing team is an independent, efficient and pedant team player who has a driving license. The work is quite physical and hours can be long so endurance is needed. Clothing team members are able to give short instructions to customers in English.
How does it work?
There is not specific training to the clothing work but you will learn it by doing.
The work starts usually in November and ends when all the Christmas charters have finished by the turn of the year.
