A guide is a social people person who wants to deliver exceptional experiences to their guests every time.
A great guide is confident not only with their skills, but is able to recognize their limitations, and their guests’ limitations well too. A guide can keep their cool in freezing temperatures and tricky situations with guests. The ability to improvise a new solution while keeping guests happy and oblivious of an occurred problem is a real talent that a great guide possesses. Common sense is a must, and wilderness skills are bonus. Leadership skills are essential. All the guides have their own style but being professional in every situation is required.
In terms of other requirements, at minimum your English skills should be good (other language skills are considered advantageous). You also have a valid driver’s licence (B-class), good communication skills, interest in outdoor activities, First Aid skills and last but not least, ability to handle stress.
