Multitalent in the Northern nature

What's it like?

As a Safari Guide you will introduce the arctic nature to international guests and guide different activities. Among many things you can for example guide a snowshoe safari on top of a fell, take guests to visit a reindeer farm or lead a snowmobile safari to a snowy forest to see Aurora Borealis. Your tools on different safaris can be snowmobiles, ice fishing gear or fatbikes and of course your awesome personality! The working days consist of various tasks such as preparation and operating safaris as well as maintenance work.

Being part of our community

While working with Lapland Safaris, you will receive unforgettable experiences, meet people around the world, and experience an intensive season above the Arctic circle. Most of the safari guides are working for the whole winter season from November to March or even early April.

All new employees of Lapland Safaris will accomplish an Arctic Guide course. The content and length of the course will depend on your role. The course is paid working time.

What do we expect from you?

A guide is a social people person who wants to deliver exceptional experiences to their guests every time.

A great guide is confident not only with their skills, but is able to recognize their limitations, and their guests’ limitations well too. A guide can keep their cool in freezing temperatures and tricky situations with guests. The ability to improvise a new solution while keeping guests happy and oblivious of an occurred problem is a real talent that a great guide possesses. Common sense is a must, and wilderness skills are bonus. Leadership skills are essential. All the guides have their own style but being professional in every situation is required.

In terms of other requirements, at minimum your English skills should be good (other language skills are considered advantageous). You also have a valid driver’s licence (B-class), good communication skills, interest in outdoor activities, First Aid skills and last but not least, ability to handle stress.
